Staff Management | SMX was recognized with the Staffing Innovator Award for establishing the industry’s first dedicated onsite staffing model and for being an early innovator of the managed service provider (MSP) model.
In 2014, Staff Management | SMX joined the TrueBlue family. TrueBlue is the largest industrial staffing firm in the U.S. and is on the Staffing Industry Analysts’ list of largest global staffing firms, connecting over 100,000 people with work each day. As part of TrueBlue, we offer a broad range of workforce management related solutions to best meet your needs.
Our innovative inside-out approach, commitment to continuous improvement and award-winning business model put client needs at the center of everything we do. The benefits of this approach are third-party validated. We received ClearlyRated’s 2021 Best of Staffing Client Diamond Award, which is awarded exclusively to companies once they have appeared on ClearlyRated’s Best of Staffing list for five years. This was our second Diamond Award. Fewer than 2 percent of all staffing agencies in the U.S. and Canada earn the Best of Staffing award annually.

Jerry Wimer, SVP, General Manager and Incoming General Manager Onsite Staffing & Acting President, PeopleManagement
Jerry Wimer is Senior Vice President of Global Operations for Staff Management | SMX, a leading provider of sustainable temporary staffing and contingent workforce management solutions that provide best talent, drive compliance and yield tangible savings.
Jerry is responsible for Staff Management | SMX’s global staffing solutions and manages its center of excellence, which supports client operations worldwide. Jerry leads Staff Management | SMX’s ongoing concentration on improving the candidate experience to continue to attract and retain best talent. He also spearheads performance-based pricing strategy as part of the company’s overarching mission to provide its clients with sustainable value.
Jerry was instrumental in the establishment of the company’s critical behavior inventory (CBI) process that has proven critical to driving operationally efficiency and success. Jerry is also an integral part of the company’s lean assessment team and has participated in and led numerous Kaizen and Kanban events.
Jerry is a Six Sigma Green Belt, is both Lean and DFSS (Design for Six Sigma) Certified, and has completed extensive ISO compliance training. Jerry is a 2008 Foresight Award winner, a recipient of the Strategic Award for Operations as well as the award for People and Growth and numerous other awards. Prior to joining Staff Management | SMX in 1996, Jerry worked in operations management for Hyatt Hotels. Jerry holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from James Madison University.
As announced on October 10, 2023, Wimer was promoted to General Manager Onsite Staffing & Acting President, PeopleManagement effective October 30th, 2023.
Bryon Withers

Bryon Withers, VP Sales
Bryon Withers is the Vice President of Sales with Staff Management and is responsible for the go-to-market sales strategy and execution. He is also leading sales automation, sales enablement, and evolving new workforce solutions for our new clients.
Bryon has over 25 years of global workforce solutions experience working in senior management and executive level roles with Adecco, ManpowerGroup, and Kelly Outsourcing & Consulting Group. During this tenure he has worked with some of the world’s most recognized companies, helping them to win their battle for talent. Over the course of his career, Bryon has successfully engaged and implemented some of the largest and most complex MSP, RPO, and Contingent Workforce Management solutions in the industry.
As a recognized contingent workforce solutions expert in the industry, Bryon firmly believes in working with clients to create a workforce solution that delivers a competitive advantage and drives greater shareholder value. Bryon holds a Bachelor of Sciences degree in Business Administration from Eastern Nazarene College in Quincy, MA.

In her role, Jennifer transforms operations through actionable analytics and collaboration, streamlines field operations and advances best practices in recruitment marketing, associate onboarding, and business reporting.
Jennifer has over 18 years of experience in the staffing industry and is committed to driving continuous operational improvement through data driven models and strategies. She is currently an executive sponsor of TrueBlue’s Innovation Program Steering Team, which works to keep us on the forefront of technology.

In his role, Pete provides operational leadership while creating partnerships with clients to ensure maximized success. Through fostering an environment that lends itself to continuous learning, Pete develops leaders within our organization with a focus on client satisfaction.
With over 18 years of experience in the Staffing Industry, Pete has helped many diverse clients reach their operational goals and achieve optimal ROI. Through streamlining efficiencies and creating strategic recruitment plans, Pete’s teams continuously prove the value of Staff Management | SMX’s staffing solutions.
Pete has been recognized multiple times throughout his time with Staff Management | SMX, earning two Strategic Awards for People and a Strategic Award for Operations.
Jen Herrbach

Jen Herrbach, VP Operations
Jen Herrbach is Vice President of Operations for Staff Management | SMX, a leading provider of workforce management solutions that deliver best talent, drive compliance, yield tangible savings and build sustainable value.
In her role, Jen provides operational leadership to support onsite service excellence for Staff Management | SMX clients. Utilizing strategies proven to increase retention and conversion, Jen directs the development of our employee engagement programs to cultivate loyalty and commitment within our onsite service teams.
As a highly-skilled leader with over 20 years of experience in operations and sales leadership, recruiting, employee relations and program development, Jen also provides expertise in strategic onsite staffing solutions that help Staff Management | SMX clients operate more efficiently while increasing their productivity.
Prior to joining Staff Management | SMX in 2014, Jen successfully developed and refined onsite sales, service and recruiting strategies for Spartan Staffing and was named Vice President of the TrueBlue onsite team. Under her leadership, the onsite service line grew by over 40 percent in 2012 and 2013. Jen was named TrueBlue’s VP of the Year in 2013 due to her success.
Tom Sheldon

Tom Sheldon, VP Operations
Tom Sheldon is Vice President of Operations for Staff Management | SMX, a leading provider of sustainable temporary staffing and contingent workforce management solutions that provide best talent, drive compliance and yield tangible savings.
Tom provides operational leadership for Staff Management | SMX’s global client base and leads many of the company’s most impactful savings and efficiency initiatives. Tom was instrumental in the development of both Staff Management | SMX’s workplace violence prevention and safety programs.
Tom is one of the company’s key lean assessment experts with a strong focus on eliminating labor inefficiencies to driving labor out of client processes. Tom is a certified Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), the Project Management Institute (PMI) and the Organizational Development Network.
Prior to joining Staff Management | SMX in 1993, Tom was in operations management for a major steel fabricator. Tom holds a Bachelor of Arts from Bucknell University and a Master of Science with a Human Resources concentration from West Chester University.

Stephanie Brattain is Vice President of Operations for Staff Management | SMX, a leading provider of workforce management solutions that deliver best talent, drive compliance, yield tangible savings and build sustainable value.
In her role, Stephanie provides operational leadership to support onsite solutions and service, while creating collaborative partnerships with clients to achieve overall success.
With over 25 years of experience in the staffing industry, all with Staff Management | SMX, Stephanie’s knowledge and experience in onsite operations, peak season planning, employee engagement, and safety awareness programs, help drive continuous improvement and efficiencies within our client partnerships. She was instrumental in the development of the Staff Management | SMX National Safety Council program.
Stephanie has been recognized multiple times throughout her time with Staff Management | SMX, earning awards such as the Strategic Award for People, Bleed Blue Award two times, and the Brenda Young Firefighter Award. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Purdue University.
Alison Kassel

Alison Kassel, Vice President, Technology
B.B.A., Management and Information Systems, Operations Research and Administrative Management, University of IowaAlison Kassel is the Vice President of Technology for PeopleManagement. She is a versatile business technology leader with experience in developing strategies, large scale systems implementations, transforming organizations, implementing portfolio management and governance models, and delivering solutions enabling organizations to achieve their strategic and operating plan objectives. Alison was CIO of Seaton before its acquisition by TrueBlue in 2014. Prior to that, Alison has held significant IT roles for highly respected organizations such as U.S. Cellular, McDonalds, Motorola, NutraSweet, and Andersen Consulting.
Alison was on the Board of Directors for Have Dreams, a non-profit organization which serves children, teens, and adults impacted by Autism Spectrum Disorder, and was previously on the Leadership Council for i.c.stars, a non-profit organization that prepares inner-city youth for careers in information technology and dedication to community involvement and leadership. Alison has a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Iowa and has completed Executive Education programs at The University of Chicago Graduate School of Business. She is Certified in the Governance of Enterprise IT (CGEIT) and is a Certified Change Agent.
Kassandra Barnes

Kassandra Barnes is the Vice President of Marketing for the PeopleManagement family of brands which includes Centerline Drivers, Staff Management | SMX and SIMOS. She is responsible for branding, digital marketing, content, design, and communications for all PeopleManagement brands within TrueBlue. Prior to her role in PeopleManagement, she led the marketing team for PeopleReady, PeopleReady Skilled Trades and JobStack. Barnes has worked for over a decade in the human capital and staffing space, previously at Paycor, a national payroll provider and CareerBuilder a leader in recruitment technology. Her expertise is focused on leading demand generation, product marketing, digital marketing and market research teams. Barnes received her undergraduate degree in Sociology from Transylvania University and her Master’s degree in Media Studies from William Paterson University.
Alex Patel

Alex Patel is Vice President of Recruitment for Staff Management | SMX, a leading provider of sustainable temporary staffing and contingent workforce management solutions that provide best talent, drive and yield tangible savings.
In her role, Alex provides operational leadership for Staff Management | SMX’s talent cycle lifecycle through oversight of the recruitment marketing, associate recruitment, associate engagement, workforce development, and recruitment and placement solutions departments.
Alex has over 17 years of experience in the staffing industry and is dedicated to driving continuous improvements on engaging and attracting talent for our client partnerships. She led the development of our associate recruitment department, which supports the overall strategy of how we attract top talent. Additionally, she built our recruitment and placement solutions team, which is heavily focused on finding skilled talent.
She is currently member of TrueBlue’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion council and serves as a chair for the Women Empowered employee resource group. Alex earned her bachelor’s degree in Corporate and Organizational Communications from Western Kentucky University.

Katie Nemitz is the Sr. Director of Finance for the PeopleManagement family of brands which includes Centerline Drivers, Staff Management | SMX and SIMOS. She recently joined PeopleManagement and TrueBlue in November 2023. She brings 15+ years experience in finance across many disciplines with a prior fortune 500 global manufacturing company. Nemitz received her undergraduate degree in Finance and Marketing from Iowa State University and her master's degree from Carlson Business School at the University of Minnesota.
