Staff Management | SMX’s teams in Indiana continued their tradition of working together to be a force for good in the community. On Jan. 18 – Martin Luther King Jr. Day – the teams from both northern and southern Indiana worked with three organizations to put together care packages for those in need.
In northern Indiana, the Lafayette team helped out at the Food Finders Food Bank, preparing bags with hand sanitizer, Chapstick and Staff Management | SMX t-shirts.
“We had a blast working together to help those in need,” said Jazzmin Washington, Staff Management | SMX recruiting manager. “But more importantly we got closer to our goal of making grassroots connections and helping those who need help.”
They also provided information about jobs and left behind ways to contact the team. Staff Management | SMX also made connections with Food Finders’ SNAP Outreach Coordinator and associate director of Development Operations to ensure that a partnership to help those in need get products they need and find work can continue throughout the year.
The southern Indiana teams from New Albany, Jeffersonville and Seymour traveled to Louisville, Ky., to make 20 Ziploc bags consisting of masks, hand sanitizer and tissues for Wayside Christian Mission and St. Johns Center for homeless men. The team also included information about how to contact Staff Management | SMX so they can help connect people and work.
“Doing community service like this makes you realize what a huge need there is for these items,” said Reneasha Stewart, Staff Management | SMX account manager. “Every little bit helps.”
