When a major winter storm hits, what do recruiters who are usually out talking to people do? They throw snowballs.
But for the Staff Management | SMX team in Indiana, these aren’t your typical snowballs; they’re virtual snowballs.
February is National Canned Food Month, so to help fight hunger while connecting people with work, the Greencastle, Ind., team is hosting a Virtual Snowball Fight Against Hunger canned food drive to benefit the Putnam County Emergency Food Pantry. Participants can donate canned goods directly at the office in Greencastle or via the team’s virtual Wish List. Their goals is to collect 240 pounds of food, which is the equivalent of 200 meals.
“We wanted something for people to do after playing in all the snow we got in Indiana,” said Raenetta Johnson, account manager at Staff Management | SMX. “But we also know that, for many people, hunger doesn’t stop because of a snowstorm. That’s why we’re collecting canned goods for our partners across central Indiana to help those in need.”
The team is also hosting a coloring contest and partnering with their peers across Indiana to raise awareness for food pantries across the state and everything they do every day to provide for those in need.
